Outrage in Akwa Ibom as Pregnant Woman’s Lover Killed by Mob

A tragic incident occurred Thursday in the Okop Ndua Erong community of Ibesikpo Asutan Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State, where a young man, Victor Akpabio from Ididep in Ibiono Ibom, was allegedly beaten to death after being caught in a compromising situation with a seven-month pregnant married woman.

The woman, identified as Esther Akpabio Effiong, is reportedly the wife of a local businessman popularly known as Mulgu. According to eyewitness reports, the two were discovered together in bed, leading to an eruption of outrage and violence from members of the community.

In the violent aftermath, Victor was reportedly doused with boiling water and subjected to a brutal beating. He later died from the injuries sustained in the assault.

Esther, who is said to be in her third trimester of pregnancy, allegedly blamed her husband for the affair, describing him as a “two-minute man” who could not fulfill her sexual needs. The controversial statement has intensified the community’s reaction and deepened the scandal.

The incident has sparked widespread anger and disbelief across the area, with residents calling on law enforcement authorities to investigate the matter thoroughly and ensure justice is served.

Community leaders and legal advocates have urged for restraint, warning against mob justice and emphasizing the importance of due process under the law.
