Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will serve two full terms (8 years) as President of Nigeria, expressing firm support for the president’s leadership and developmental agenda.

The assurance came during the flag-off ceremony for the construction of a 65-kilometre, 3-lane dual carriageway—a vital component of the 750KM Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway—held at Ikot Asua Village in Nsit Atai Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State on Tuesday.

Though Governor Eno is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and President Tinubu belongs to the All Progressives Congress (APC), he emphasized that national development transcends party lines.

“Let me end by assuring our people-loving President, who will complete 8 years, because we are going to stand by him. This is the truth. He cannot start this work and abandon it,” Governor Eno stated.

He underscored the importance of continuity, urging Nigerians to pray for President Tinubu’s good health and strength to complete and commission the massive coastal highway project.

“Somebody else may not finish it. We want the hand that started this to also finish it. This will not be like the East-West Road that has dragged on for decades,” Eno said, referencing the long-delayed federal road project.

The Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway is a flagship infrastructure project of the Tinubu administration, aimed at enhancing connectivity and boosting economic activity across the Southwest, South-South, and Southeast regions.

The 65KM stretch being flagged off is expected to stimulate growth, attract investment, and reduce travel time between critical coastal cities.

Governor Eno’s remarks have been seen as a symbol of bipartisan support for the administration’s infrastructure goals, reinforcing the belief that Nigeria’s progress must remain above political affiliations.
