The Federal Government of Nigeria has officially declared Friday, April 18, and Monday, April 21, 2025, as public holidays in celebration of Good Friday and Easter Monday.

The announcement was made on Tuesday by the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, in a statement released through the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Dr. Magdalene Ajani.

Dr. Tunji-Ojo extended warm Easter greetings to Christians across the country, urging them to reflect on the virtues of love, sacrifice, and selflessness demonstrated by Jesus Christ, who gave His life for the redemption of humanity.

“This season reminds us of Christ’s enduring message of peace, hope, and sacrificial love. I encourage all Nigerians, regardless of their faith, to imbibe these values for national unity and progress,” the minister said.

He also called on Nigerians to use the Easter holiday to pray for peace, unity, and continued stability across the country.
