In a powerful demonstration of political unity and grassroots mobilization, All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders and stakeholders in Esit Eket Local Government Area have officially declared their support for the 2027 re-election bids of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State.
The endorsement took place during a large-scale meeting at the APC Secretariat in Ikpa, Esit Eket, which brought together party faithful from all ten political wards, traditional rulers, women and youth groups, and community leaders.
Governor Umo Eno Gains Full Support in First Post-Defection Gathering
This gathering marked the first formal assembly of APC stakeholders in Esit Eket since Governor Umo Eno’s recent defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the ruling APC. The event served not only as a platform for political realignment but also as an affirmation of confidence in Governor Eno’s leadership and his administration’s ARISE Agenda.
A communiqué read by Rt. Hon. Dr. Usoro Akpanusoh, a former state lawmaker, expressed full backing for Governor Eno, describing him as a people-oriented leader with a commitment to inclusive governance and infrastructure development.
Tinubu, Akpabio Praised for Visionary National Leadership
The stakeholders also applauded President Tinubu for his bold economic reforms and national development strides. Similarly, Senate President Godswill Akpabio was praised for his strategic collaboration with Governor Eno in fostering unity and driving progress in Akwa Ibom State.
Sir Bassey Dan Abia Recognized as APC Leader in Esit Eket
One of the key highlights of the meeting was the unanimous endorsement of Sir Bassey Dan Abia, former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), as the political leader of APC in Esit Eket. A motion affirming his leadership was moved by Hon. Asuquo Simon and seconded by Hon. Ntiense Robson Isemin, the Chapter Welfare Officer.
In a symbolic gesture, Hon. Assam, the APC Chapter Chairman in Esit Eket, presented Sir Bassey Dan Abia with the sword of leadership, entrusting him with the responsibility to guide the local chapter towards political victory in 2027.

Stakeholders urged all APC members in Esit Eket to prioritize internal party unity, strengthen grassroots mobilization, and extend open arms to new defectors and interested political actors joining the party. They also committed to delivering massive votes for Tinubu, Akpabio, and Umo Eno in the 2027 general elections.
