Former President Muhammadu Buhari has extended his congratulations to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on reaching the two-year milestone of his administration, urging Nigerians to remain supportive of the government’s ongoing reforms.
In a goodwill message marking President Tinubu’s midterm in office, Buhari emphasized that governance is a continuous journey and that national progress requires patience, unity, and shared responsibility.
“As the party and government celebrate this important milestone, let us all remember that leadership is a relay, not a sprint,” the former president stated.
Buhari expressed strong backing for the Tinubu-led All Progressives Congress (APC) administration, especially its ongoing efforts to tackle inflation and reduce poverty—issues he acknowledged are hitting the most vulnerable families the hardest.
“I commend the reforms aimed at reviving our economy, but we must understand that results will come gradually, not overnight,” Buhari noted. “These reforms must be shielded from unnecessary political distractions.”
He called for collective responsibility, highlighting the importance of citizen and private sector participation in nation-building.
“The immense task of reducing poverty and inflation cannot be shouldered by the government alone. The private sector and all of us as citizens must join hands in every way possible,” he said.
Urging optimism, Buhari encouraged Nigerians to remain hopeful and confident about the future of the nation.
